Hank the yacht guy

Hank e-mailed me because the other Alan Black had visited him over the weekend at a Boat Show and showed interest in some yachts… here is Hank’s e-mail to me, the wrong Alan Black.

Alan,Just wanted to say thanks for stopping by our Sabre/Back Cove display at the NY Show.We chatted briefly about a sailboat in the 50 foot range.I have attached specs on one and am sending another in the following email.I would enjoy hearing your thoughts,after you have a chance to look them over. Hank then went on to post specs and pics of two different yachts. They were both in the $500,000 range. I decided to reply with:

I’m insulted that you would show me such an inferior boat. I expected this from the moron over at Yacht World. Not you Hank, I’m disappointed. Please show me the best that you have to offer.

A few days went by and Hank got back to me, like a good salesman would…

Alan, Not only is this a nice boat but I believe that we have a motivated seller.Sorry for the Beneteaubut really wasn’t sure of which end of the market appealed to you.The following email has another boat I like.Hank

I’ve got to hand it to Hank, he’s trying his best here. However, he isn’t off the hook yet…
